Pocket groovebox · Android · Closed beta

Press. Hear. Make.

A pocket groovebox — sampler, sequencer, synth.
Built for beatmakers who want to make, not configure.

SALTO SAMPLER running on Pixel and iPhone
48kHz sample rate · Float32 stereo · ~10ms latency · 32-voice polyphony · No IAP · Android first

Three tools, one surface.

Sampler, 16-step sequencer, and synthesizer — on the same 4×4 grid. Switch modes, not apps.

Sampler main screen
01 · Sampler

Load a WAV. Tap AUTO. Sixteen slices.

Drop a loop, slice it in one tap, spread it across the pads. Real WAV decoder. Choke groups, velocity, soft-clipped master.

Sequencer screen
02 · Sequencer

16 steps. Pads become beats.

Same 4×4 grid turns into a step sequencer. Swing, per-pattern BPM, sample-accurate timing. No separate app for patterns.

Synth screen
03 · Synth

A synth on the same pads.

Built-in polyphonic synth voice. Per-voice LFO, tempo-sync optional. MACRO A/B routes to any parameter you care about.

Flip it.

Salto is a somersault. A flip in the air.

A flip of a sample is what beatmakers do. The name, the logo, the product — same promise. Load, flip, make.

  1. 01

    Load

Drop any WAV from your phone. PCM16 or Float32. Stereo is kept.

  2. 02

    Flip

Tap AUTO for spectral-flux slicing, or drag markers by hand. Preview with a tap.

  3. 03

    Make

Play the pads. Record a 16-step pattern. Tweak with MACRO A/B. Export when ready.

A taste.

Two knobs. Whole groove.

In SALTO, MACRO A and MACRO B are your two hands on the sound. Map them to any parameter — filter, pitch, swing, reverb — and tweak the whole kit in one gesture. No menus, no sub-screens. That's the instrument, not the app.

Tap to start — sound on. Drag the macros.

Instrument, not app.

"Every UI decision is in service of the next sound happening faster."

SALTO is designed to be played, not configured. Pads trigger on press-down, not release. The audio engine is C++ on Google Oboe, in exclusive mode, so you feel the hit — not the software. No in-app purchases, no onboarding carousel, no subscription.

Questions.

When does SALTO ship?

1.0 lands on Google Play in 2026. Sign up above — you'll get one email when it's live.

Android only?

For now, yes. Android first because Oboe gives us the tightest latency. iOS is on the roadmap — no date yet. We'll tell you honestly when it's real.

How is it different from Koala Sampler or BandLab?

Koala is a great sampler — different tool, different workflow. SALTO is a dedicated groovebox: sampler, 16-step sequencer, and built-in synth on the same 4×4 grid, running on our own native C++ audio engine. ~10ms latency, 32-voice polyphony, no IAP, no subscription. Some people will want both — they answer different questions.

Is there a paid version?

No in-app purchases. No subscription. If we charge for SALTO, it'll be one up-front price on the Play Store and that's it.

What devices do you support?

Android 11+ with Oboe-compatible audio. ~10ms round-trip on Pixel 6+ and similar. Older phones will be slower — we'll tell you honestly in the store listing.

Can I export my beats?

Yes. Render the current pattern to a WAV you can share or drop into a DAW.
